Homecoming October 15, 2017

This October 15, 2017 @ 11am,  we welcome our beloved former pastor of over 40 years Rev. Glenn Moorman and his wife Rita Fridella Moorman. Both are the parents of our also beloved Pastor Doug Moorman who is now our present pastor in HVBC. Pastor Glenn is our guest speaker for this Homecoming 2017 event.

Dinner / Fellowship, activities and games.  Afternoon Worship service follows at 2:30 pm.

About our guest speaker,  Rev. Glenn Moorman.  He was saved and baptized in 1966 at Providence Baptist Church in Brandon, FL under the ministry of Dr Raymond Hancock.  He surrendered to preach in 1968 and moved his family to Chattanooga, TN, where he attended Tennessee Temple University and in 1972 he graduated with a degree in Pastoral Theology . In 2008 he earned his Masters in Pastoral Counseling from Andersonville Theological Seminary.

One of Pastor Glenn Moorman's favorite verses is 1Peter 5:2-3  "Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint,  but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensembles to the flock."  In 1972, he was called to serve at church in Ohio.  In 1974 the Lord moved Pastor Glenn, his wife Rita  and his 3 sons Doug, David & Darren to our ministry in Wheaton as a pastor.  The Lord burdened him to start a Christian school and, in 1975, Wheaton Christian School was started.  In September of 1979, the church purchased 7.5 acres of land on Ednor Road to hopefully build a larger church and facility.

In 1993 plans began to build on the Ednor Road Property.  The Wheaton property was sold and by God's grace the present church building was completed and the spring of 2000.  The church's name was changed to Hampshire View Baptist Church.

Pastor Glenn Moorman has faithfully shepherded this congregation for more than 4 decades.  As the Lord has lead, he has been instrumental in starting or expanding the ministries of our church.  These include:  Christian school, youth program, AWANA, nursing home services, deaf ministry (hvbdc.com), social events, ladies group, visitation, various Sunday School classes, bus ministry, mission trips, tract ministry, Spanish ministry, summer camps and youth ministry.

Please join us in welcoming Rev. Glenn Moorman! Come meet new friends while reconnecting with old ones from years gone by.
