AWANA CLUBS
CUBBIES
Cubbies is the AWANA club for preschoolers during the two years prior to regular kindergarten, usually three and four year olds. Cubbies is unique because it supports and maintains parents as the primary source of spiritual nurturing by directly involving them in the teaching and learning process. Cubbies uses the fundamental AWANA elements of games and activities, Bible memorization, handbooks, and awards.
SPARKS
Sparks is the AWANA club for kindergartners, first, and second-graders. Each club meeting has three parts. In “Game Time” Sparkies enjoy entertaining games played on the AWANA game circle. During “Green Meadow” time, Sparkies gather for their age-appropriate Bible lesson. during Sparkle time,, clubbers recite Bible verse from memory, complete handbook sections, and earn awards.
T&T
T&T (Truth & Training) is the AWANA club for boys and girls third through sixth grade. The T&T evening is broke up into three segments: game time, council time, and handbook time. We want our clubbers to hear the truths of God’s word and trust Christ as their savior. We believe that once a young person trusts Christ as their savior, he or she can immediately begin serving the Lord in their everyday lives.
God’s Word says: “Even a child is known by his doings.” (Proverbs 20:11)
That’s why our handbooks emphasize memorizing the Bible verses and being able to explain what those verses mean. There are also requirements which focus on missions.
The Typical Club Night…
…Begins with the Flag ceremony, which includes prayer, pledges to the American and AWANA flags, and the singing of the AWANA theme song. AWANA Club meetings consist of three main segments:
-
Features unique games played on the AWANA game circle. Clubs are divided into four teams for game time (green, yellow, blue, and red). Games for this age group are more competitive, however, sportsmanship is the central focus. This is the most exciting part of club for many clubbers.
-
Gives leaders time to work with the clubbers one-on-one. The clubbers have an opportunity to recite the verses they have learned during the week from their handbooks.
-
Is the segment when the clubbers gather to hear from God's Word. Scriptural truths are presented though Bible and object lessons.
